Transneft PCD continues revamping the Kuibyshev-Unecha-Mozyr oil trunk pipeline

In the capacity of the technical customer, in 2017 Transneft PCD continues implementing the project “Revamping the Kuibyshev-Unecha-Mozyr-1 oil trunk pipeline (OTP) and Unecha-Mozyr-2 OTP” in the responsibility area of Transneft-Druzhba. The purpose of the project is to enhance reliability and security of the pipeline system running from Samara, via Bryansk and Unecha, to the border with the Republic of Belarus.

As of now, diameter 1020 and 1220 mm pipes are being replaced in construction sites in Samara, Bryansk and Oryol regions. Overall, it is planned to revamp more than 102 km of the linear portion. Some 88 km of trenches have been dug, 87 km of pipes have been laid, and 81 km of laid pipeline have been filled in to date.

The oil trunk pipelines have been revamped in the confined area of the right-of-way with existing utilities with motorway and railway, and minor stream crossings.

A set of hydraulic tests and inline inspection have been scheduled for summer and autumn, with the subsequent hook-up of the mounted sections to the functioning OTP.

Seasonal operations related to biological rehabilitation of the route sections, creating amenities in the stop valve units have been scheduled at construction sites hooked up in winter 2016.
