Transneft PCD commenced building a railway unloading facility in Volgograd region as part of Yug-2 project

Acting as the technical customer, Transneft PCD started construction of a railway unloading facility as part of the large-scale “Yug. Stage 2. Construction of the Volgograd – Tikhoretsk PPTP” project.

The new unloading facility will adjoin Tinguta pipe-end pump station. The project aims to secure diesel acceptance by railway vehicles from refineries and pumping it to the tank farm of Tinguta PEPS. The deliveries are expected to total 1.9 MTPA.

Under the terms of reference, the railway unloading facility will be comprised by 6 special use railway tracks of 2,925 metres long, to enable simultaneous acceptance of up to 18 tank cars. Besides, it is planned to construct an inspection ramp, a weight measuring plant, a pump station for diesel discharge, and tanks for emptying faulty tank cars and emergency spills.

The completion of the railway unloading facility construction is scheduled for 2018.
