Transneft - Pipeline Construction Directorate has started implementing the project “Construction of Novovelichkovskaya - Krasnodar oil pipeline”. The project was developed by Transneft’s institute - Giprotruboprovod.

The construction purpose is to join Novovelichkovskaya oil pump station with refineries of Krasnodar Territory - Afipsky and Ilsky. Sulfur crude oil is planned to be pumped through the oil pipeline; its design capacity will be equal to 4.5 million tons of oil a year.

Construction of the oil pipeline’s linear portion with total length of more than 50 km and diameter of 530 mm with installation of stop valves and PIG traps is planned as part of the project. As well, one more station - PS-3 - will be constructed near Novovelichkovskaya oil pump station. A main pump unit with 4 pumps with the capacity of 2,500 m3/hr, PIG traps, energy supply and fire safety facilities: fire extinguishing pump station and 2 fire water tanks, each with capacity of 300 cubic metres, will be constructed at the station. Commissioning of the new station will allow increasing the capacity of Tikhoretsk - Novorossiysk-3 pipeline from 14 million tons to 18.5 million tons a year.

Now  arrangement of a temporary construction camp is performed at urban settlement Ilsky for the employees of contracting organizations constructing the oil pipeline’s linear portion. A welding column has been mobilized; a set of installation and welding works is being performed at the linear portion.

The route of the pipeline crosses minor streams, roads and railways, communication lines of third parties. A geographic feature is in the oil trunk pipeline’s crossing of irrigative, discharge and drainage channels of melioration system, which will result in the pipeline’s ballasting with different weighting materials.

Construction of PS-3 is complicated with the necessity to remove 785 metres of the existing communication cables and power lines of third parties. Now development of a trench has been started; the plan of the networks reorganization is under approval.

Implementation of the project is planned to be finished in 2019.
