Transneft PCD Holds Charitable Event Dedicated to Victory Day

Date of publication: 17 May 2019

Transneft PCD in cooperation with the Truzheniki Tyla I Veterany Truda (“Homefront Workers and Labour Veterans”) Regional Non-Governmental Organisation of Samara Region has held a charitable event to commemorate the 74th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

On 15 May 2019, a festive concert was held at the Voroshilov Samara Garrison Officers' Clubhouse, which was attended by nine hundred labour veterans and homefront workers, all those who were working behind the lines at defense enterprises, factories and collective farms during the war and those who participated in the reconstruction of the city when the war was over.

During the war, more than 40 industrial enterprises and military plants were evacuated to Samara, causing the city’s population to grow by half.  This is the reason why homefront workers and labour veterans are so numerous here.

It is not the first year that Transneft PCD is cooperating with the organisation of homefront workers and labour veterans. Charitable funds were allocated to purchase presents, rent a hall and print invitation cards.

“We, homefront workers and labour veterans, are grateful to the representatives of the Company for their assistance in putting together such an event for us, for helping us to get together again and remember our comrades, to mourn for a while and to notice with a smile that life is changing for the better,” emphasised the Chairman of the non-governmental organisation Pyotr Gorshkov.
