Transneft PCD has completed works on the service connection of a newly constructed section with a length of more than 1.6 km to the revamped Gorky – Ryazan-2 petroleum products trunk pipeline (PPTP) in Ryazan Region.
The construction works at the revamped section started in November 2018. The works included making 29 crossings with utilities, such as a products pipeline, communications cables, high-voltage lines, and roads. Mandatory hydraulic testing and analysis with a borehole geometry tool (BGT) were conducted prior to the connection.
Revamping of the Gorky – Ryazan-2 petroleum products pipeline is underway as part of Transneft’s technical upgrading programme in order to increase reliability and environmental safety of the pipeline operation.
At present, the section that was removed from service is being dismantled.
